Sonu Rangnekar

Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor

I was born and raised in India, where it is very common for the elders in the family to use foods, spices, and herbs to treat ailments and diseases. It is also common to pay spiritual attention to health and have a lifestyle that is in rhythm with the seasons and nature. I learnt at a young age, what to do and what not to do, in any given season or time of the day. This practice of daily and seasonal rituals was not formally taught to me by my parents and grandparents; instead it was just inculcated in our way of living, as part of our cultural tradition. So growing up I did not see Ayurveda as a science or a health system; it was a way of life. It emphasized the importance of maintaining balance in all aspects of life and taught me to honor the connection between our physical, emotional, and spiritual being.

Decades of work in international development, often took me to countries, places, and communities where ancient indigenous healing systems are still integral to people’s well-being, just like the continued practice of Ayurveda in India. This quietly made me want to study my own ancient Indian medicine formally and expand upon my basic experiential knowledge. Propelled by my long-held curiosity, love and reverence for this time-tested knowledge from the Vedas (ancient Hindu scriptures), I became a formal student of Ayurveda and enrolled to train as a Holistic Ayurvedic Coach.

By the time I graduated as a holistic Ayurvedic coach, the depth, breadth, and vastness of this fascinating science, left me wanting more. My first formal dive into this wide ocean of knowledge, had further fueled my appetite to learn and to swim deeper into it. The more I learnt about the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, the more I realized how much more there is left to learn. So with a deepened sense of wonder and awe for the wisdom that has been passed down through generations, I decided to continue my journey to the next level, to become an Ayurvedic Counselor.

I am aware that there is no end to learning and imbibing from this depthless ocean of wisdom, so I see myself as a lifelong student of Ayurveda. But at the same time, as a certified Health Coach & Ayurvedic Counselor, I want to share the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and its intuitive yet simple, approach to wellness with other balance seekers. By introducing Ayurveda in a relatable and accessible way, I am enabling them to make informed healthy choices for their overall well being.

I am here to share, guide, and inspire holistic living by integrating the ancient wisdom of the two sister sciences, Ayurveda and Yoga, to empower you with a greater self-awareness and to give you the practical tools and knowledge that can help you find a natural and intuitive path to healthy living.

My other passion is pottery. I find working on the wheel, like Ayurveda, is all about centering and balancing. Both Ayurveda and pottery ground me and help me find the balance that is easy to lose in the demands of my everyday life.
